The Twelve Months
Zoe Keramea - 2007 Twelve paper cut-outs of twelve Greek proverbs one for each month of the year. These folk sayings trace the now vanishing human relationship to the cycle of the seasons. The text of each proverb has to be deciphered hidden in the pattern of every image. Printed by Panos Davias in Athens in 2007 in a limited edition of 500 signed and numbered by the artist. The development of the alphabet has been an ongoing transformation of the letter forms through mirroring, turning, fliping and rotating.
